Moisture Management
Moisture Wicking, Quick Drying, Cooling
A fundamental performance requirement for today’s apparel, activewear, workwear, and next-to-skin textiles. Effective moisture management ensures that perspiration is rapidly transported away from the skin, spreads efficiently across the textile surface, and dries quickly to maintain comfort during daily wear and high-intensity activity. At AGS, our plant-based technologies are engineered to deliver reliable, durable, and efficient moisture management while being aligned with sustainability expectations.
The Differentiation Factor
Moisture management refers to a textile’s ability to absorb, spread, and release moisture in a controlled, dynamic manner. A high-performing moisture management system moves moisture away from the skin (wicking), distributes it across a larger surface area (spreading), and accelerates evaporation (drying). This coordinated process helps the body regulate temperature, reduces cling and dampness, and supports long-lasting comfort across a wide range of environments and activities.
During physical activity or warm conditions, perspiration accumulates at the skin–fabric interface. Without a moisture management solution, textiles can become saturated, heavy, and uncomfortable, trapping heat and delaying evaporation. This leads to reduced performance, lower wearer satisfaction, and inconsistent product quality across applications. Proper moisture management supports comfort, thermal regulation, and dryness which are call considered critical attributes for activewear, intimates, uniforms, outdoor apparel, and everyday clothing. As consumers increasingly expect performance features in all categories, moisture management has become a baseline requirement for textile products.
The Added Value
Moisture management technologies provide tangible value across the textile value chain. Mills benefit from finishes that are easy to apply, compatible with common substrates, and optimized for durable performance without altering the fabric’s soft handle. Brands and retailers gain dependable, claim-ready functionality that strengthens product differentiation and meets consumer expectations for comfort and performance. Consumers experience textiles that stay lighter, drier, and more comfortable during movement or heat exposure, while also drying faster after laundering. When sourced from plant-based materials, moisture management technologies offer a high-performance, sustainable pathway that supports improved product longevity and responsible material innovation.

The AGS Advantage
Moisture management finishes modify the surface energy of the fiber to control how water interacts with the textile. AGS’s plant-based technologies create a hydrophilic pathway within the fabric structure, enabling sweat to be rapidly pulled away from the skin and efficiently transferred through the fiber cross-section. Once on the fabric surface, the finish increases spreading speed, allowing moisture to disperse and evaporate more quickly. Because these treatments are engineered to bond deeply within the fiber matrix, they retain effectiveness across repeated washing, varied fabric constructions, and typical heat-setting conditions used in textile finishing.
